Bombay Bungalow House Rules

What to bring:

Beer, pillows, blankets, bed linens, toilet paper, paper towels, more beer, etc., and a good attitude.

Every car that arrives must bring a case of beer or pitch in towards buying a keg.

Part Timer Policy:

Part timers will be allowed to pick 7 weekends from the whole summer. There is no limitation to which weekend they can choose except for the weekend of July 19th — 21st. Of these 7 weekends chosen part timers can use 2 of them on holiday weekends (i.e. Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day). Please sign up via the web site http://www./ or email info@/ by Wednesday of that week just so we can see where we stand for that weekend. The earlier you do this the better. There will be a limit of 30 people staying in the house at once except for holiday weekends.

Guest Policy:

Guests are defined as someone brought to Dewey with the intention of crashing for the weekend. Random hookups will not be considered guests.

Guests are not allowed to bring other guests

In the event that the guest is out ‘all night’, he/she is still charged for a nights’ stay at the house.

Guests are subject to the following fees:

It is the responsibility of the member that brought the guest to collect these fees. These fees will be used for utilities and other essential items, such as toilet paper, cups, paper towels & plates, etc. Remember that most hotels in the area cost about $150-$200/night and require a 2-3 day minimum stay.

Full Time members get one free weekend guest pass.

Each member assumes all responsibility for his or her guest (i.e. cleaning up vomit, paying for broken stuff, noise violations/fines, paying guest fees, etc.)

Order of Bed Claim:

    2. Guests

Guests should expect to sleep on the floor.

Parking:

Parking is very difficult to find in Dewey. Avoid getting a parking ticket.

Parking will run anywhere from $15-$20 for the weekend. The house has 2 spots and a few of us will be buying summer passes, so we recommend carpooling with other members of the house.

If you arrive and there is parking available on our street, please park there before filling up our two spots.
If you park in the two spots and are blocking somebody in, please leave your keys in an easily accessible place so that your car can be moved.

Etiquette:

Please be respectful of one another.

The web site (http://www./) will be used to sign in for a weekend. This will be used for carpooling and to gain an idea as to how crowded the house will be. Please sign in by Wednesday of that week just so we can get a count of people that are going to be there. This will give the opportunity to let guests know if they can come down for the weekend. Remember there is a limit of 30 people per weekend.

All Full timers and Part timers are welcome to come down to the house during the weekdays without prior notice.

If your guest didn’t pay please pay for them because you are the responsible member. It is not the responsibility of the house to collect these fees.

There is no smoking or drugs in the house. All the beer you can drink is allowed though.

Noise violations from police are given out frequently. In the event that we receive one, the parties responsible will pay the fine.

Try to spend 5 minutes Saturday and Sunday mornings cleaning up. If we all pitch in it takes no time at all. There has been discussion of getting a maid service every other week. If it is cheap and we all pitch in or use a guest fee to pay for this, it might be worthwhile. We will be looking into this, but let me know if you think it is a bad idea.

At the end of the weekend lock the front door when leaving if you are the last to leave. Also make sure you turn down the A/C.

All members will help clean all the areas before leaving for the weekend, including the bathrooms. Nobody wants to come back to a dirty house the following weekend.

Anything left in the house that is unmarked can be used or consumed by all. If you do not want something eaten/drank, please mark it with your name. No nasty refrigerators!

Members help other members hook up.

Members will lie to help other members hook up.

Please straighten up, put away sheets and leave your room in good condition for the next weekend.

The first one down for the weekend unlocks the front door, which remains unlocked until the last person leaves for the weekend. We will try to make enough keys to go around. If you want a key make a copy of someone else’s. If everyone has keys then when nobody is around make sure the door is locked.
